Civil Construction Senior Estimator Project Manager

Position Details:

  • Days: Monday – Friday
  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Pay: $90,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Type: Direct Hire
  • Location: Sandy, Oregon onsite position (at this time only considering candidates located in the Portland/Vancouver metro area)

Overview: The Specialized Recruiting Group is partnering with a locally owned construction company based in Sandy, Oregon, to recruit for the essential role of Civil Construction Senior Estimator/Project Manager. This position is key to ensuring client satisfaction, maintaining quality standards, and driving project profitability. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of business objectives, strategic foresight, and exceptional leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimation:

  • Actively identify and pursue new bidding opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships to enhance bid prospects.
  • Prepare precise and prompt job estimates and bids, ensuring:
  • Detailed takeoff reports for accurate cost estimation.
  • Comprehensive review of all bidding prerequisites, including pre-qualifications, schedules, wages, and special requirements.
  • Accurate and timely entry of bid details into HCSS Estimating software, followed by submission for approval.
  • Efficient management of client interactions regarding estimates, swiftly resolving queries and concerns.

Project Management:

  • Set up and manage project accounting efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure comprehensive, current documentation for all projects, securing necessary materials and permits for timely project commencement.
  • Manage project components such as time card verification, cost analysis, billings, budgeting, and forecasting through HCSS software.
  • Maintain adherence to specifications, quality controls, and budgetary constraints in day-to-day operations.
  • Manage project timelines effectively to ensure timely completion through all phases.
  • Handle contract negotiations, vendor relations, and process change orders efficiently.
  • Perform regular site visits to monitor adherence to cost, time, and scope agreements.
  • Provide field support and manage project communications and documentation.

  • Be prepared to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience project management or estimating experience in general construction, preferred with exposure to civil construction
  • Bonus: Experience working for subcontractors in civil construction, electrical, or plumbing trades with transferable or overlapping skills
  • OSHA certification and comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and industry-specific software such as Timberline, BlueBeam, Agtek, and HCSS.
  • Strong capability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Exceptional project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
