Swoon is actively seeking a Senior Business Performance Analyst to join the team of our client - a fortune 1000 company!

Position Summary:

The Business Performance Analyst, Senior's primary function will be to create monthly vendor/contractor performance metrics and dashboards. This role facilitates monthly reporting of results for transmission, distribution, and vegetation management vendor performance meetings. The Business Performance Analyst, Senior will implement and maintain custom data and analytic reporting to provide insights and support the day-to-day operations of Electric Operations Contract Management. This position supports the end-to-end contract lifecycle. The role is expected to evolve and lead clients from simple, pre-existing business intelligence solutions to forward-looking "what's next" capabilities using more advanced predictive and prescriptive tools. The successful candidate will work across functional teams and partner with peers and leaders on process change implementation and ongoing measurement and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates monthly and weekly metrics reporting related to vendor performance
  • Measures vendor performance requirements; collects data to identify root causes of performance issues and implements solutions for improvements
  • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve vendor performance
  • Aligns improvements to performance shortfalls; surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques, processes, and implementation
  • Determines data needs, collects data, and selects from different analytical techniques to conduct root cause analysis and determine issues; designs and maintains operational tools and reports
  • Manages moderately to highly complex projects requiring selection of methods, approaches, and tactics to resolve problems and obtain solutions
  • Creates analyses that accurately describe the state of the business
  • Creates complex and automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery, ensuring accurate data transformation
  • Designs data analysis to achieve business objectives; processes data, analyzes data, and writes clear and concise data findings using Power Queries and Power BI reporting
  • Applies judgment to solve problems of diverse scope
  • Typically receives general instructions on new assignments or projects and little instruction on recurring assignments
  • May assist in coaching and developing less experienced staff and end users
  • Understands business process needs and develops solutions
  • Provides work execution and operational support; ability to travel 3 to 5% of the time

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • 5 years of relevant business experience
  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or Computer Science/Information
  • SAP
  • Advanced Excel skills (Power Pivots & Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft BI stack including PowerView and PowerPivot; Power BI, DAX
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with metrics/dashboard creation, reporting, and presenting data
  • Experience working with data stored across multiple databases/data sources

Preferred:

  • MBA or other advanced degrees
  • Advanced statistical, modeling, and process improvement knowledge
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Advanced reporting knowledge and experience with multiple reporting tools
  • Demonstrated experience in data visualization best practices using Power BI
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to keep pace and contribute to a high-performing team
  • Self-starter with advanced problem-solving and data analysis skills
  • Familiarity with utility operations
