Data Engineering and Reporting Manager

Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Duration: FTE (perm - ON-SITE DAILY)

RATE: $135K-$160K

Overview:

This position manages the personnel responsible for designing and building systems that collect, store, process, report, and provide data. This position will ensure that the data is secure, accurate, and compliant with organizational guidelines, and that engineering activities conform to our client's National’s Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitates the management of all aspects of the data platform including architecture, design, infrastructure, data generation, storage, processing, and consumption that are secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
• Creates and enforces policies for effective data management, formulates techniques for quality data collection, devises and implements efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis, establishes data sharing rules, and supports others in the daily use of data systems.
• Supervises development, building, maintaining, and management of efficient ETL and data pipelines.
• Ensures creation and maintenance of effective and comprehensive documentation of data systems, processes, changes, implementation, standards, and policies.
• Works in an Agile environment and continuously reviews business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks.
• Collaborates with IT technical product delivery, infrastructure, software engineering, and quality assurance teams on roadmap, requirements, prioritization, design, and on-time delivery of data and reporting stack in line with organization priorities.
• Establishes strong relationships with customers, business partners, and other stakeholders by demonstrating area expertise and enterprise business acumen.
• Manages data engineering and reporting staff including clear communication of expectations and monitoring of the performance of the data team against those expectations.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems or related field
• Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered
• Minimum of 5 years of management or supervisory experience
• Minimum of 10 years of data engineering and reporting experience
