We are seeking an Environmental Data Validation Chemist to join our team. In this role, you will support critical projects by ensuring environmental laboratory data meets stringent quality standards. This position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals eager to contribute to impactful environmental initiatives.

Position Overview:

As an Environmental Data Validation Chemist, you will evaluate and validate environmental laboratory analytical data to ensure compliance with method and program/project QA/QC requirements. Reviews will be conducted following DOD Validation Guidelines or other applicable procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing written reports, editing electronic data to incorporate validation qualifiers, and conducting technical or peer reviews. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team of chemists and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate laboratory-reported data for compliance with DOD Validation guidelines and other procedures.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and edit electronic data files using cloud platforms.
  • Conduct technical or peer reviews of validation work completed by colleagues.
  • Collaborate with team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience performing environmental laboratory analysis or data validation using CLP, SW-846, or other EPA methodologies, preferably within federal programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat for creating and editing documents.
  • Ability to work effectively in the office environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States, per federal contract requirements.
  • Ability to pass an EPA background check for access to federal property.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Laboratory experience with EPA methods and instruments such as HPLC, LCMS, GC, GC/MS, GC/HRMS, ICP/AES, ICP/MS, IC, CVAA, etc., for organic and inorganic analysis.
  • Experience validating data in accordance with EPA National Functional Guidelines and or DOD data validation modules.
  • Familiarity with non-routine analyses, such as PFAS by EPA methods, explosives, or radionuclides.
  • Previous experience validating data from other methods and programs.

Pay Range:

Final pay for this position is determined by multiple factors, including relevant work experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, education, and contract provisions regarding labor categories specific to the role.

The pay range for this position is: $ 59,000 - $72,000
