Grounds Crew (Part-Time & Seasonal)

San Diego FC is the newest Major League Soccer team. Our state-of-the-art training complex features multiple natural and artificial grass fields that require dedicated care and maintenance for our First Team and Academy players. We focus on maintaining high-quality facilities that enhance player development and provide an enjoyable experience for visitors.

We are looking for a new part-time seasonal employee to join our Grounds team. You will work 20-25 hours per week through the MLS season.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining three natural grass fields and two artificial turf fields.
• Assist with painting fields
• Support in all cultural practices such as aerification, verti-cutting, top dressing, edging, and fertility programs
• Assist with the irrigation repairs throughout the training complex.
• Assist with full field blankets and weather-related situations.
• Contribution with the maintenance, repair, and care of groundskeeping equipment and tools.
• Mow turf using both walk behind and riding mowers
• Safely operate team-owned vehicles and transport equipment

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience (1 year) in sports turf management, preferably in soccer.
• Familiarity with turf management practices and irrigation systems.
• Ability to multi-task and complete tasks efficiently.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Special Requirements of the Job:

• Capable of working in various outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
• Flexibility to assist with additional facility maintenance tasks as needed.
• Must respond to time-sensitive matters and monitor company communications effectively.
