Technical Writer - Visual Merchandising

In this role, you will assess the current environment and develop the most effective strategy and platform for creating SOPs tailored to a front-line audience You will be responsible for the design & development of technical documentation regarding visual merchandising standards. You will produce formal, centralized documentation & SOPs to replace information that is currently scattered across various informal sources. You will partner with cross-functional teams to gather, organize, & consolidate all necessary details in order to create comprehensive SOPs regarding the proper display of visual merchandising elements for a specific area within stores. After the initial template is completed for a specific area, the long-term goal will be to create SOPs across multiple areas within store locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Focus is to create SOPs for front-line audiences
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Merchandising Services to conduct research & gather info. related to brand standards across various focus areas
• Develop & implement a comprehensive program that defines long-term maintenance tasks, schedules, & ownership for equipment & infrastructure
• Produce clear, accurate, & thorough technical documentation to support & standardize Merchandising Services procedures/guidelines.
• Over time, contribute to the creation of manuals, training materials, & process documentation to support consistent execution & knowledge-sharing

This is a 9-month contract (potential for extension or conversion to perm) in the Vinings.

The team operates in a hybrid model: in-office 4 days/week (Mon-Thu) & remote on Fri.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 4 years of experience as a Technical Writer
• Experience creating SOPs for visual merchandising standards (or other visual guidelines for front-line audiences)
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud / InDesign (or similar tools) for SOP creation
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather & organize info. for SOPs
• Background in writing manuals, training documentation, & process guides
• Strong attention to detail & communication skills
• Strong proficiency in grammar, spelling, & document formatting
• Bachelor's Degree (highly preferred)
