Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Houston, TX, for a Residential Construction Manager. The Residential Construction Manager will oversee daily construction activities, manage project schedules, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Responsibilities include supervising construction teams, managing budgets, coordinating with subcontractors, and maintaining project control to deliver high-quality homes on time and within budget. This role is ideal for a candidate with 3–5 years of residential construction experience who is ready to take ownership of ground-up homebuilding projects—ensuring quality, budget, and schedule alignment from pre-construction through final delivery.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory Skills in managing construction teams and subcontractors
  • Experience in Budgeting and financial management for construction projects
  • Knowledge of Construction Safety standards and protocols
  • Proficiency in Construction processes and techniques
  • Project Control skills for maintaining schedules and quality
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus
  • 3–5 years of residential construction experience (single-family preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple jobs and teams simultaneously
  • Strong working knowledge of local codes, permitting, and inspections
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using construction management software (Buildertrend is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead on-site activities
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality homes and exceeding client expectations

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee multiple active job sites, ensuring adherence to construction schedules and company quality standards
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors
  • Review and interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and permit requirements
  • Monitor budgets, track material costs, and verify subcontractor invoices
  • Conduct regular site inspections to maintain construction progress and safety standards
  • Communicate updates clearly and consistently to internal teams and leadership
  • Resolve field issues efficiently and maintain smooth project execution
