Job Description

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Systems Integrator to join a leading Company located in the Washington, DC surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $

The Systems Integrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining integration solutions using MuleSoft and API management technologies. You will work with bothbusiness and technical teams to develop strategies for integrating disparate systems and applications, ensuring data flows seamlessly and securely across platforms. Your expertise will guide the architecture of integration solutions, ensure adherence to best practices, and provide mentorship to junior team members. This work is located onsite in the DC area.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance integration solutions using MuleSoft and API technologies.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand integration requirements and develop appropriate solutions that meetorganizational needs.
  • Develop integration strategies that enable system interoperability and ensure smooth data exchange between various applications, platforms, and cloud-based services.
  • Design and manage APIs (RESTful, SOAP, etc.) using MuleSoft API Gateway to expose and consume services securely and efficiently.
  • Implement API security policies such as OAuth, JWT, and other authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Monitor, test, and optimize APIs for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Leadthe development and implementation of integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, ensuring best practices for reusability and scalability.
  • Develop MuleSoft connectors for various enterprise systems and third-party applications to ensure smooth and efficient data transfers.
  • Ensure that MuleSoft ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) solutions align with business requirements and technical constraints.
  • Work with Anypoint Studio to create integration flows, transformation logic, and error-handling procedures.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of integrations and identify areas for optimization in terms of speed, scalability, and reliability.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for integration-related issues and provide expert advice on the best integration practices and strategies.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive integration documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures.
  • Stay up to datewith the latest trends and best practices in integration technologies, particularly MuleSoft, API management, and cloud integration.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems integration, with a strong background in API management and MuleSoft.
  • Proven expertise in integrating systems using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Mule ESB, Anypoint Studio, and Mule connectors.
  • Extensive experience indesigning and implementing APIs (RESTful, SOAP), including API security and versioning strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of integration patterns, data transformation, and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and integrating cloud-based applications.
  • Proficiency in Java and MuleSoft-specific languages (DataWeave).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices in the context of integration.
  • Knowledge of integration tools and technologies such asJMS, MQ, SOAP, REST, and File Transfer Protocols.
  • Ability to collaborate with business units to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Ability to provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, drive integration projects, and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document complex integration solutions and present them to bothtechnical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve integration issues efficiently.

Desired Qualifications:

  • MuleSoft Certified Developer or MuleSoft Certified Architect certification.
  • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of Microservices architecture and integration of microservices using MuleSoft.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
