As a Field Service Inspector at Trident Industries, you will monitor construction activity to ensure compliance with contract terms, drawings, and specifications. You'll be the on-site eyes and ears, providing timely documentation, identifying deficiencies, and supporting resolution efforts that keep projects on track.

Responsibilities 

  • Conduct routine inspections on utility construction job sites to verify compliance with safety protocols, drawings, and project specifications
  • Provide detailed reporting of site conditions, contractor progress, and identified issues
  • Communicate with internal teams and customers to address job site concerns and inspection findings
  • Support and coordinate third-party and customer inspection activities as needed
  • Assist the Construction Supervisor with field planning and tracking progress
  • Identify potential design, material, or access issues and collaborate on resolutions
  • Participate in contractor job hazard analysis (JHAs) and contribute to site safety culture
  • Document trends in deficiencies and recommend improvements in construction processes

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in utility, transmission, or related construction inspection work.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, project specifications, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort using mobile reporting or documentation tools.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with a proactive approach to field reporting and issue resolution.
  • Experience performing job safety analyses (JSA) and hazard assessments.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and climb for extended periods in varied field conditions.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a range of weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to hear, see, and respond effectively in safety-sensitive environments.
